Christian Chukwu, the iconic Nigerian footballer and coach, was laid to rest at his country home in Obe, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. Chukwu’s storied career saw him captain the national team to its first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980. After his playing days, he transitioned into coaching, where he also made a significant impact, leading the Super Eagles to a third-place finish in the 2004 AFCON and managing clubs like Enugu Rangers.
