The Alema of Warri Kingdom, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, has publicly addressed the ongoing dispute between his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
In a strongly worded statement, Chief Uduaghan expressed concerns over what he described as unnecessary distractions overshadowing serious allegations that demand public attention.
Breaking his silence on the issue, he reaffirmed his wife’s integrity, loyalty, and dedication to public service, emphasizing that she was elected due to the overwhelming support and confidence of her constituents.
“My wife is a devoted leader and an unwavering pillar of truth, even in the face of adversity,” he stated.
Revealing that he had personally met with Senator Akpabio in an effort to resolve the matter amicably, Uduaghan lamented that despite their understanding, his wife continued to face harassment.
“I have always approached this matter with maturity and respect, but despite efforts to settle things peacefully, the situation persists,” he said.
The traditional ruler, known for his commitment to peace and family values, made it clear that his marriage remains strong and unshaken.
“I have unwavering faith in my wife’s loyalty and remain committed to our union, which is built on love, compassion, and mutual respect,” he declared.
Calling on the Senate and its leadership to uphold dignity, he urged the nation’s lawmakers to ensure that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is treated with the respect she deserves while legal proceedings take their course.
Uduaghan’s response adds a new dimension to the dispute, intensifying calls for a closer examination of the allegations and how they are being handled at the highest levels of government.
