INTERVIEW
1. THE CYBERSECURITY BLIND SPOT
Interviewer: What problem were you trying to solve that existing cybersecurity solutions failed to address?
Ambima Buzhyason: Most cybersecurity tools focus on protecting what is already behind a wall. Passwords, devices, networks. But they completely ignore the fact that your personal information is already out there, scattered across thousands of data brokers, people search sites, and leaked databases. PIIRATE Elite was built to solve this blind spot. We do not just protect your login credentials. We actively hunt down and remove your exposed personal data from over 3,200 data broker sources. It is the difference between locking your front door and actually retrieving the copies of your house key that strangers already have.
2. PROACTIVE VS REACTIVE PROTECTION
Interviewer: How exactly does Piirate AI protect users differently from traditional password managers or security tools?
Ambima Buzhyason: Traditional tools are reactive. They alert you after a breach happens. PIIRATE Elite is proactive. Our platform continuously scans data broker networks, people search engines, and public records aggregators to find where your personally identifiable information is being sold or displayed without your consent. That includes your name, address, phone number, email, family connections, and financial associations. We then systematically submit removal requests across all identified sources and track them to completion. Users get a real-time dashboard showing their exposure level, removal progress, and ongoing protection status. It is not a password vault. It is a full PII removal and privacy restoration service.
3. PERSONAL INSPIRATION: DEMOCRATIZING DIGITAL IDENTITY PROTECTION
Interviewer: What inspired you personally to venture into digital identity protection and cybersecurity innovation?
Ambima Buzhyason: My background spans biology, data science, and cybersecurity. I am currently completing my PhD in Data Science and Cybersecurity at Northcentral University. Through my academic research and professional work, I saw firsthand how much personal data is commoditized without people’s knowledge or consent. The data broker industry generates billions of dollars annually by trading in people’s private information, and most individuals have no idea it is happening, let alone how to stop it. I wanted to build something that gave ordinary people the power to reclaim their digital identity. Not just the technically savvy or the wealthy, but everyone.
4. HOW PIIRATE AI WORKS: THE DIGITAL CLEANUP CREW
Interviewer: Can you explain in simple terms how Piirate AI works and why ordinary users should care about protecting their digital identity now more than ever?
Ambima Buzhyason: Think of PIIRATE Elite as a cleanup crew for your digital footprint. You sign up, we scan the internet for everywhere your personal information appears across data broker sites, public records aggregators, and people search platforms. We then go through each one and submit formal removal requests on your behalf. You can track everything from your dashboard or our mobile app.
The reason this matters now more than ever is that AI has made it trivially easy for bad actors to aggregate scattered pieces of your data into complete identity profiles. A phone number here, an address there, a family member’s name somewhere else. AI connects those dots instantly. If you are not actively removing your exposed data, you are a target waiting to be assembled.
5. NEXT GENERATION CYBER THREATS
Interviewer: How prepared is Piirate AI for the next generation of cyber threats?
Ambima Buzhyason: Extremely prepared, because we built the platform with an AI-first architecture. Our removal engine uses intelligent pattern matching to identify new data broker sources as they emerge. The threat landscape evolves constantly. New aggregation sites appear weekly, and our system adapts to detect and address them. We are also investing in predictive exposure analysis, where we can alert users to potential privacy risks before their data appears on a new platform.
The key advantage is that our approach is fundamentally about reducing your attack surface. No matter how sophisticated cybercriminals become, if your personal data is not available to harvest, you are exponentially harder to target.
6. DRIVING ADOPTION IN EMERGING MARKETS
Interviewer: How do you plan to drive awareness and adoption across emerging markets?
Ambima Buzhyason: Africa and developing markets are actually where this matters most, because the regulatory infrastructure for data protection is still maturing. In many countries, data brokers operate with virtually no oversight. Our approach is threefold.
First, tiered subscription pricing that makes enterprise-grade privacy protection accessible at every income level. Second, educational partnerships and media engagement. Programs like the Start Up and Innovation show on Atlanta Discuss Channel are invaluable for reaching audiences who do not yet understand the risk. Third, mobile-first design. PIIRATE Elite is built as a full native mobile experience because in emerging markets, the phone is the primary computing device. We meet people where they are.
7. THE NORCEMIC GROUP VISION
Interviewer: What is the broader vision behind the NorCemic Group umbrella?
Ambima Buzhyason: NorCemic Inc. sits at the intersection of three converging megatrends: digital privacy, health technology, and artificial intelligence. Our vision is to build an ecosystem of products that protect and empower individuals. Protecting their digital identity through PIIRATE Elite, and protecting their physical health through SmartCemic.
The common thread is giving people access to information and tools that were previously available only to institutions. Data brokers know everything about you, but you know nothing about them. We fix that. Clinical-grade health monitoring requires expensive lab visits. We are fixing that too. NorCemic exists to democratize protection and knowledge.
8. SMARTCEMIC: CLOSING THE HEALTHCARE GAP
Interviewer: What gap in healthcare technology are you trying to close with SmartCemic?
Ambima Buzhyason: The fundamental gap is between the clinical lab and the individual. Today, if you want to know your glucose level, ketone levels, hemoglobin, cortisol, or cholesterol, you need a blood draw and a lab visit. That creates a massive blind spot in health management. You only get snapshots a few times a year, when what you actually need is continuous, real-time awareness.
The SmartCemic QESA Pro device uses quantum-enhanced spectroscopic analysis to measure over 100 biomarkers non-invasively. No needles, no blood draws, no lab waiting times. You place the device on your skin and get clinical-grade results in your app. That is the gap we are closing. Making comprehensive health data as accessible as checking your phone.
9. PREVENTIVE HEALTHCARE AND PATIENT OUTCOMES
Interviewer: How can technology-driven platforms like SmartCemic improve preventive healthcare and patient outcomes?
Ambima Buzhyason: The silent epidemic of diabetes and hypertension thrives on delayed detection. By the time most people get a diagnosis, they have been living with elevated levels for months or years. SmartCemic changes the equation from reactive treatment to proactive prevention. When you can see your glucose trending upward after a meal, you change your behavior today, not after your next annual checkup.
Our wellness platform provides personalized insights, trend analysis, and actionable health nudges based on your real-time biomarker data. Early awareness drives early intervention, and early intervention saves lives.
10. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AS CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Interviewer: What role does artificial intelligence play across your ecosystem of products?
Ambima Buzhyason: AI is the connective tissue across everything we build. In PIIRATE Elite, AI powers our data broker detection engine, pattern matches your PII across thousands of sources, and optimizes removal workflows. In SmartCemic, AI drives our biomarker compensation algorithms, translating raw spectroscopic signals into accurate health readings using machine learning models trained on clinical reference data. AI also powers our wellness insights, generating personalized health recommendations based on biomarker trends.
We are not using AI as a marketing buzzword. It is the engineering foundation that makes both platforms technically possible.
11. BUILDING GLOBALLY RELEVANT INNOVATIONS FROM AFRICA
Interviewer: What does it mean to you to build globally relevant innovations from Africa?
Ambima Buzhyason: It means everything. The narrative that Africa consumes technology rather than creates it is outdated and inaccurate. What Africa has is an abundance of real problems that demand innovative solutions, and the talent to build them. NorCemic has Norwegian co-inventors, American incorporation, and African leadership. We are proof that innovation does not have a geography. It has a mindset.
Building from Africa with global relevance is not a limitation. It is a competitive advantage. We understand underserved markets intimately because we come from them, and that understanding shapes products that serve everyone better.
12. TOUGHEST OBSTACLES IN BRINGING PRODUCTS TO MARKET
Interviewer: What has been the toughest obstacle in bringing these products to market?
Ambima Buzhyason: It is the combination of regulatory complexity and resource constraints. Building a medical device that complies with FDA wellness guidelines, Apple and Google app store policies, and international health regulations, while simultaneously building a privacy platform that navigates data protection laws across multiple jurisdictions, requires enormous technical and legal precision.
We have had app submissions rejected, trademark applications challenged, and distribution platforms suspended, all while operating with startup resources. Every one of those setbacks taught us something. The toughest obstacle is not any single challenge. It is sustaining momentum through all of them simultaneously.
13. IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA PLATFORMS FOR AFRICAN INNOVATORS
Interviewer: How important are media platforms in supporting African innovators?
Ambima Buzhyason: Critically important. Platforms like the Start Up and Innovation program on Atlanta Discuss Channel provide something money cannot buy: credibility and visibility. When an African innovator appears on a respected media platform, it signals to investors, partners, and customers that this is serious, investable technology. Media exposure also creates accountability. Once you have publicly committed to a vision, you have to deliver.
For me personally, every media appearance has opened doors to conversations that would not have happened otherwise. Media platforms are force multipliers for African entrepreneurs.
14. FIVE-YEAR VISION FOR THE NORCEMIC ECOSYSTEM
Interviewer: Where do you see the NorCemic ecosystem in five years?
Ambima Buzhyason: In five years, PIIRATE Elite will be the global standard for personal data removal and digital identity protection, serving millions of users across multiple continents with localized compliance for GDPR, CCPA, POPIA, and NDPA. SmartCemic will have completed its regulatory pathway and be commercially available as a consumer wellness device, with clinical partnerships validating its biomarker accuracy against laboratory standards.
The NorCemic ecosystem will be an integrated platform where your health data and your digital identity are both protected under one umbrella. In the future, health data will be the most sensitive personal information anyone possesses, and the company that protects both will define the next era of personal security.
15. LESSONS FOR YOUNG AFRICAN INNOVATORS
Interviewer: What lessons have you learned for young African innovators?
Ambima Buzhyason: Three lessons.
First, the problem you are solving matters more than the technology you are using. Start with a real pain point, not a cool feature.
Second, resilience is not about not failing. It is about failing faster than your competitors and learning from each failure before they do. We have had app store rejections, trademark abandonments, and technical setbacks that would have ended most projects. Each one made the product stronger.
Third, build for global standards from day one. Do not build a product that is good enough for Africa and hope to scale later. Build to FDA standards, build to App Store standards, build to enterprise security standards. Because when your moment comes, you need to be ready. The world does not lower the bar for African innovators, and we should not want it to.
