Multiple administration sources, citing a Deadline report, indicate that U.S. President Donald Trump is “seriously considering” granting a full pardon to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Despite being convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, Combs was acquitted of more serious charges like racketeering and sex trafficking. Sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
Combs, 55, now faces up to 20 years behind bars. A presidential pardon would spare him from imprisonment and further legal consequences. Reports suggest the notion of clemency is part of Trump’s broader efforts to shift focus away from controversies tied to Jeffrey Epstein and classified files.
Critics, including media personality Megyn Kelly, have launched fierce opposition. Kelly argued that a pardon would undermine victims, echo Epstein-era scandals and alienate Trump’s conservative base. She called it a “miscarriage of justice” and urged Trump to refrain from granting clemency.
Trump’s record shows he has often issued pardons to high-profile figures such as Lil Wayne, NBA YoungBoy, the Chrisleys, and Rod Blagojevich. Many see his approach as politically motivated and aligned with celebrity culture.
White House officials have declined to confirm or deny any intended pardon. Meanwhile, Combs’ legal team has not commented on publicly available clemency discussions.
