WASSCE Results Withdrawn as WAEC Fixes Serialization Errors

WAEC has halted access to the recently released 2025 WASSCE results following the detection of technical issues during a post-release review. This decision was taken proactively to preserve the credibility of the assessment process.

The glitches were tied to an anti-malpractice initiative: paper serialization deployed in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics. WAEC’s review revealed bugs in these serialized papers, prompting the council to disable the result checker portal temporarily.

An apology was issued by WAEC’s Acting Public Affairs Head, Moyosola Adesina, expressing regret to candidates and the public. The council pledged to resolve the matter transparently and urged affected students to recheck results after 24 hours.

The Ministry of Education commended WAEC’s swift response and professionalism, affirming that corrected results should be available on the portal within a day. It also highlighted plans to begin transitioning to CBT for nationwide exams starting November 2026.

Experts see this swift corrective action as a boost for exam integrity, while education stakeholders await the updated results to restore confidence in WASSCE outcomes.
