Onyanabo Pays Tribute
Reacting to the news, Al Humphrey Onyanabo, Founder and Lead Strategist of AcadPass™, extended condolences to Prof. Gold and his family on behalf of the AcadPass™ community and Creestgate Limited.
Onyanabo described Prof. Gold as an intellectual pillar within the AcadPass™ ecosystem whose academic guidance continues to shape the platform’s vision for transforming tertiary education administration and digital identity systems in Nigeria.
“We stand with Professor Mondy Selle Gold at this moment of grief.
The passing of a mother is a profound loss, but we take solace in the knowledge that she lived a life of dignity and purpose, raising a son whose scholarship and commitment to knowledge continue to impact many,”
Onyanabo said.
He noted that the values described in Prof. Gold’s tribute — discipline, integrity, intellectual depth, and resilience — are clearly reflected in the professor’s own contributions to academia and national development.
“Professor Gold has been a strong pillar of support within the AcadPass™ initiative. His academic insight and intellectual leadership continue to strengthen our mission to modernize Nigeria’s tertiary institutions through Digital Public Infrastructure,”
Onyanabo added.
Supporting Nigeria’s Digital Transformation
Onyanabo also highlighted the broader work being carried out by Creestgate Limited through its technology platforms aimed at strengthening institutional systems and governance in Nigeria.
These initiatives include:
AcadPass — a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) platform designed to improve identity management, campus security, and institutional efficiency in tertiary institutions.
AcadVerify — a system developed to verify workforce, eliminate ghost workers and generate authentic payrolls,
and also verify and authenticate social beneficiaries and trusted records management.
AcadVerify – AIEDR — a digital and real time registry for operators in the informal economic sector in Nigeria.
According to Onyanabo, the contributions of scholars like Prof. Gold remain essential in ensuring that such platforms are grounded in sound academic principles while addressing real institutional challenges.
“Our work at Creestgate Limited is focused on building systems that strengthen national institutions. The AcadPass™ DPI ecosystem, AcadVerify, and the AcadVerify–AIEDR registry are all designed to improve record integrity, identity verification, and campus security across Nigeria.
Professor Gold’s guidance has been invaluable in shaping the academic credibility of these initiatives. He has also been invaluable in opening doors for AcadPass globally.”
A Legacy of Values
Members of the AcadPass™ community say Prof. Gold’s tribute to his late mother reveals the foundation upon which his intellectual and professional life has been built.
The late matriarch, he noted, was known for her disciplined approach to life, thoughtful communication, and strong business orientation — qualities that influenced both family and community.
As condolences continue to pour in from colleagues, scholars, and associates, Onyanabo emphasized that the AcadPass™ community stands in solidarity with Prof. Gold during this period of mourning.
“We pray that God grants the family the strength to bear this loss and that the memory of a life well lived will continue to inspire generations to come.”
