Tinubu Announces 26 New Appointments Across 10 Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials into 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, in a move the Presidency says is aimed at strengthening public institutions and enhancing service delivery across key sectors.
The appointments, announced in a State House statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
Among the high-profile appointments is former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, who has been named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). He will head the agency’s board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors, while the incumbent Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors complete the board.
The President also reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman. Former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was named Secretary of the Commission, while Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna) were appointed as commissioners. Additional members include Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
In another key appointment, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
President Tinubu also named Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
For the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State, Engineer Julius Oloro was appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the late Dr A. R. Kamal, who passed away in January.
The President further inaugurated a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members include Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Also appointed was Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund earlier this year.
In the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and current Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), was appointed Executive Director (Finance), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue the Benue State governorship.
The Presidency said all appointments take immediate effect, expressing confidence that the new appointees will contribute to the effective delivery of government policies and national development objectives.
