The Nigerian Police Force has obtained a remand order from the Chief Magistrate Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, to detain social media influencer Reno Omokri, former Dunamis Church Pastor Abraham Daniel, and two others – Mr. Enenche Enenche and Alexander Enenche. The court order was issued on January 13, 2025, through an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun .
The police are currently searching for Reno Omokri, who served as special assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media. The remand order also affects Pastor Abraham Daniel and the Enenche brothers, who are already in police custody.
According to reports, the prosecution of Abraham Daniel stems from his resignation from Dunamis Church, following a misunderstanding with Pastor Paul Enenche. After leaving the church, Daniel allegedly received threats and was eventually arrested by police officers, who claimed to be acting on Pastor Enenche’s instructions .
The court has directed the police to produce the respondents on January 30, 2025. The remand warrant was issued based on a petition by Patrick O. Okolo, SAN, accusing Reno Omokri and others of alleged defamation.
