Breaking: IDF likely staying longer in southern Lebanon

The IDF is expected to stay in south Lebanon after 60 days despite ceasefire deal, Kan News says. The reason for it is that Lebanese army is not adhering to the deal, as Hezbollah tries to reorganize in the area and no moves have been made to disarm hezbollah.
It also hasnt deployed 10000 troops in southern Lebanon but only 2500

Another reason is that the the rules have changed Israel will no longer allow terror armies on it’s border.

Us envoy Amos Hochstein is travelling to the region and will visit Beirut on monday to try and make sure the IDf will withdraw within the agreed 60 day period.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz meanwhile has directed the IDF to prepare for a potential escalation between Israel and Hezbollah in case the ceasefire collapses.

If the IDF stays beyond the 60-day period it would surely test the ceasefire agreement, but if so the ceasefire deal would not necessarily collapse as Hezbollah is still severely hurt.
